The Electrical Machines laboratory gives knowledge about the characteristics and controls of DC and AC Machines. It is established with all kinds of motors, generators and latest drives. This is the core lab for Electrical Engineering branch and ancillary lab for other departments. The infrastructural facilities are utilized by the students for UG/PG projects apart from their regular laboratory schedule. This lab exposes the students to the operation of DC machines, transformers, synchronous machines and induction motors.

Power Electronics and Drives Laboratory
The Power Electronics and Drives laboratory has well organized test benches. It consists of different kinds of demo kits such as SCR characteristics, study kit for D.C motor control using chopper and necessary simulation software’s. This lab is equipped with all power electronic converters, DSP and FGPA based DC and AC drives, power quality analyzers, Special electrical machines (BLDC, PMSM, SRM and Stepper motor etc). All the test benches are provided with 3-Phase AC, DC and 1-Phase UPS supply and thereby to study the characteristics of switching devices and its applications in rectifier, inverter, chopper and resonant converter.

Devices and Circuits Laboratory
The Devices and Circuits laboratory consists of different basic electronic devices like BJT, JFET, MOSFET, SCR, UJT etc., for conducting experiments relevant to electronic devices & circuits and verification of circuit theorems. This lab is also adequately equipped with devices for signal generation like function generators, signal generators and measuring devices like CRO, Digital LCR-Q meter, Decade resistance box, Voltmeters, Ammeters, Wattmeters, Multimeters etc. which enable the students to understand the behavior of semiconductor device based on experimentation and to provide practical experience with simulation of electrical circuits and verifying circuit theorems.

Power System Simulation Laboratory
The Computer and Simulation laboratory is well equipped with sufficient number of PC’s with software like MATLAB which interfaces the mathematical computing visualization and provides a flexible environment for technical computing in the areas of power electronics, control system, power system and electronics. This lab is being extensively used by M.E and B.E students in addition to the regular laboratory courses like PSS lab, CS lab, Electrical circuit lab to acquire software development skills and experience in the usage of standard package necessary for analysis and simulation of power system required for its planning, operation and control.

Linear Integrated Circuit Laboratory
The Linear Integrated Circuit Laboratory is equipped with Linear and Digital IC kits, Oscilloscopes, IC testers etc., for the students to study the characteristics of linear IC’s like Op-Amps, timers, PLL etc., and Digital IC’s like 74XX series. Application experiments using the above IC’s are also performed in this lab and thereby the students are exposing to study various digital & linear integrated circuits used in simple system configuration.

Control System Laboratory
This lab introduces the fundamentals of control system with practical exposure. This lab is well furnished with the equipments like AC and DC servomotor, Synchros position control system etc,. This lab provides the facility to analyze the stability of the system. This lab is also equipped with sufficient number of CROs and other necessary equipments to provide knowledge on analysis and design of control system of various types and orders.

Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory
This lab gives knowledge to students about the basic transducers and bridges such as pressure transducer, temperature transducer, Anderson bridge, Kelvin’s double bridge etc., . This lab also explains the calibration of various equipments such as current transformer, instrumentation amplifier, LVDT etc., to fortify the students with an adequate work experience in the measurement of different quantities and also to gain expertise in handling the instruments involved.
