Since its inception in 2002, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been continuously making progress in its teaching activities. Initially commencing with an intake of 60 students, the sanctioned intake was increased to 90 seats in 2007/2008 and to 120 seats in 2025.
The Computer Science Engineering department is currently recognized as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities that match the best departments in the country.

Our college continues to focus and utilize the best quality IT infrastructure and applications development for academic support.
Our department laboratories have dedicated internet facilities. We provide free internet access to our students. All computers in the laboratory have internet access.
Our department has enough desktop PCs in the laboratories.
The college has purchased sufficient number of licenses for licensed software as per the curriculum. Our laboratories are equipped with licensed software to meet the needs of laboratories classes. We have started to shift from proprietary software to free and open source software.
We are using free and open source software as alternative to commercial software wherever possible. We have installed proprietary software in some laboratories to enable students and faculty to explore the latest technologies.
Classrooms/seminar halls are equipped with interactive panels, smartboards, lecture recording system, and LCD projectors for delivering presentations.
We organized a one-day seminar on software testing on behalf of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and we express our sincere gratitude to the speaker, Mr. R. Singaravelan, for delivering the seminar on software testing.
His expertise and insight have provided our students a deeper understanding of software testing. We appreciate his time and effort he invested in preparing and delivering this seminar for our students.

I have had a great experience at this college. The faculty is supportive and they provided me with numerous opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge. I learned a lot and made some amazing time. The hostel food was excellent. I am grateful for the experience and would recommend it to everyone.
I am student of PBCE. The college has more ties with industry partners providing opportunities for internships and placements and also focuses more on extra-curricular activities, conducted throughout the year. It is a good learning environment for the students. The college has well-equipped labs. It is a good place to grow academically and personally.
I have been a student of P.B college of Engineering. I must say that the college management has been very supportive throughout my journey. The college is infrastructure is good and well maintained, providing a conductive learning environment. The library is well-stocked and the wifi connectivity is reliable. The placement was good.
From the admission process to graduation, the staff has been helpful and has been monitoring my progress. Good placement opportunities. Many of the students placed at 5 LPA to 6 LPA. Overall, I am very impressed with the college’s commitment to student success.
