About the Department

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2002 and was given the fifth rank status by Anna University during their inspection in the year 2009. Department of EEE is dedicated to meet the current needs in the industrial field with the flexibility to tune its programmes according to its different requirements. Application of new technology in various fields is the main focus in all the activities of the department. Electrical Engineers design and implement a wide range of systems such as power generation, transmission and distribution, telecommunication networks, electrical machines and modern industrial control systems. The course has been designed with the aim of providing an in-depth knowledge and a significant design experience across the key areas of Electrical Engineering to meet with the social needs that evolve instantly in today’s modern world.

To be a centre for imparting technical education of international standards and to conduct research on the cutting edge of technology to meet the current and future challenges of technological development.

Mission:

To impart technical education through effective teaching and learning process. To create technical manpower for meeting the current and future demands of industry. To Nurture Creativity & Critical thinking in applying Engineering skills to face the fast growing globalization.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • Graduates will contribute to power systems, industrial automation, or electrical product design.
  • Graduates will pursue higher education, certifications, or entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Graduates will demonstrate leadership, lifelong learning, and social responsibility.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • Apply electrical and electronics concepts to design and implement industrial and domestic systems.
  • Use modern software and hardware tools for electrical circuit analysis, control systems, and automation.

Program Outcomes (POs):

  • To provide the students with a strong foundation in the field of Engineering knowledge, Problem analysis, Design/development of solutions, Conduct investigations of complex problems, Modern tool usage in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • To gain adequate knowledge to become good professional in Electronics and Communication Engineering associated industries, higher education and research.
  • To develop attitude in lifelong learning, applying and adapting new ideas and technologies as their field evolves.
  • To prepare students to critically analyze existing literature in an area of specialization and ethically develop innovative and research-oriented methodologies to solve the problems identified.
  • To inculcate professional and effective communication skills, leadership qualities and team spirit in the students to make them multi-faceted personalities and develop their ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
  • To demonstrate and apply knowledge in Mathematics, Science and Engineering fundamentals in Electronics and Communication Engineering field.
  • To design a component, a system or a process to meet the specific needs within the realistic constraints such as economics, environment, ethics, health, safety and manufacturability.
  • To demonstrate the competency in using software tools for computation, simulation and testing of Electronics and Communication Engineering circuits.
