About the Department

Electronics and Communications Engineering emphasizes technical skills that can be used to help develop, install, test and maintain communications systems. The curriculum includes subjects related to wired and wireless communication with complementary topics in mathematics. Courses emphasize the technical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Graduates of this program may pursue career opportunities in a variety of entry-level positions, such as Electronics engineering technologist, electronics engineering assistant, engineering sales/service representative, computer systems technologist, technical consultant, telecommunications technician, communication systems installer, field service representative, engineering technician or research technician.

The types of work environments that may use graduates with these skills include among others, data and telecommunications service providers, TV and satellite services organizations, computer network sales and services organizations, electronic systems R&D facilities, and entertainment industries.

Adequate emphasis is given to practical application of theoretical concepts so that students are geared to face the challenges in future.To focus on learning facilitation to create competent engineers, who are able to strive, survive and succeed in the IT and Electronics and Communication industries.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • Graduates will work in electronics design, communication, embedded systems, or allied sectors.
  • Graduates will pursue higher studies or professional certifications in relevant domains.
  • Graduates will demonstrate technical competence, teamwork, and ethical values.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • Analyze, design, and simulate electronic circuits and communication systems.
  • Apply embedded system and signal processing knowledge to solve engineering problems.

Program Outcomes (POs):

  • To provide the students with a strong foundation in the field of Engineering knowledge, Problem analysis, Design/development of solutions, Conduct investigations of complex problems, Modern tool usage in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • To gain adequate knowledge to become good professional in Electronics and Communication Engineering associated industries, higher education and research.
  • To develop attitude in lifelong learning, applying and adapting new ideas and technologies as their field evolves.
  • To prepare students to critically analyze existing literature in an area of specialization and ethically develop innovative and research-oriented methodologies to solve the problems identified.
  • To inculcate professional and effective communication skills, leadership qualities and team spirit in the students to make them multi-faceted personalities and develop their ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
  • To demonstrate and apply knowledge in Mathematics, Science and Engineering fundamentals in Electronics and Communication Engineering field.
  • To design a component, a system or a process to meet the specific needs within the realistic constraints such as economics, environment, ethics, health, safety and manufacturability.
  • To demonstrate the competency in using software tools for computation, simulation and testing of Electronics and Communication Engineering circuits.
